Crew 626 -E1 spent Monday night at Ponil camp.  They climbed over 7,975 ft. Hart Peak, hiking 4.18 miles, to get there.  From the top of Hart Peak, they were able to see Mt. Baldy, which they will climb in a few days.

Crew 626-E1 got off the bus yesterday at Six Mile Gate and hiked to Anasazi Camp.  A short hike, only about 2.25 miles, but filled with Ranger Training.  The Philmont Ranger provides instruction on water purification, food preparation, bear bag hanging, etc…  The Ranger will also go over map [...]

Another busy day awaits our traveling crew of vagabonds!  This morning, they will need to clear out of Peterson Air Force Base and get all of their gear loaded on the bus.  After breakfast, they’ll have a 45 minute bus ride to Pikes Peak.  Once there, they will board the Manitou and Pike’s Peak Railway [...]

Good morning!
After a hearty breakfast prepared by Annette McHugh, our Philmont contingent boarded the bus at 6:30 AM headed for the airport.  I must say, they all looked quite spiffy in their uniforms!  I just spoke with John Howe, they have cleared security at the airport and are waiting for their plane.
