Summer Camp – WE’RE HERE!!!!!
Well… the title says it all. The time we prepared for over the past few months has paid off. The camp site is set, the boys are here and we’re all safe. It’s about 9:50p and the welcoming campfire has just ended. I am going to make this a short one today – but keep comming back! I am going to try and post each night this week so that you all can get a taste of what your boys are doing. The spelling will be off, but I’ll try to at least keep it so that you can figure it out. It’ll kinda be like trying to figure out what Ozzy Osbore is actually saying.
Here is what we walked out of the campfire to tonight – It will seem familiar, because we sing at the end of our meeting each week. Feels a little different when you’re in a crowd of over 400 and everyone knows the words and doesn’t feel to self conscience to sing.
So I leave you with this (be really thankful you can’t hear me sing….)
Softly falls the light of day…
As our campfire fades away….
Silently each scout should ask….
Have I done my daily task?
Have I kept my honor bright?
Can I guiltless sleep tonight?
Have I done and have I dared…
Everything to be prepared.
